My name is Steve Young and I am a retired California Highway Patrol Officer. I will also be your instructor in one of the online traffic courses with B Line Traffic Schools. No matter what course you sign up for, my goals are the same: Present you with the information that you need in a way that will not put you to sleep and then get you back to your life.  Throughout some of the courses I have included interesting situations, people and other random things I have come across in my 25+ years with the CHP to break things up a bit. Ok ok, enough about me. Close this window and start your course with B Line Traffic Schools today.

Traffic School Options

18 Aug Blog | Comments

Traffic schools offer lots of different options. There are classes for lots of different people. Below is a list of the different traffic school classes that are offered and who would benefit from taking them.

  • Traffic Violator School – If a person has recently received a traffic violation and is interested in getting that one point citation removed from their driving record there may be an opportunity to do that. If a person has not taken a traffic violator school course in the last 18 months and is trying to get a one-point traffic violation removed from his or her driving record, he or she could take a traffic violator school course. Once the course is completed the person needs to submit his or her certificate to the proper court and pay the fine of the traffic ticket. Once that has been accomplished the person’s one-point violation will be removed from his or her driving record.
  • Mature Driver Improvement Course – Any person age 55 or older, is considered a mature driver, and can take a mature driver improvement course. The purpose of taking this course is to not only improve one’s driving abilities but it can also help a person receive auto insurance discounts, possibly up to 15%. The best way to find out whether you qualify for this type of discount is to talk with your insurance agent to obtain approval before taking the course.
  • Drivers Ed Course – This course is usually taken by someone who is turning 16, however this course is also for anyone who needs to obtain a driver’s license. This course, along with the on the road driving piece, meets the requirements necessary in order to take both the written and driver test. This course goes over the rules of the road along with other necessary information to help the student pass the written test at the DMV.
  • Drivers Ed Test Prep Course – This class is for anyone who has a hard time taking written exams or who might be feeling like they need a bit more time to study and prepare for the driver’s ed exam. This course will go over the different types of questions that could be asked on the written exam. It also offers practice exams to help that student feel more prepared to take the written test.
  • Commercial Driver’s License Test Prep – Anyone needing to obtain a CDL can take this course to help them prepare for the CDL test. Besides offering content related to what will be on the exam there are also practice tests available to help the student feel more comfortable and more prepared to take the written exam.

Many people hear the words traffic school and think it is for teenagers who are going to be taking their driver’s written exam. Although that is one of the traffic school course options it is not the only reason people take traffic school courses. Traffic school courses are available for a mature driver trying to improve their driving skills, a person receiving a one point traffic violation, someone trying to obtain her driver’s license whether it be a regular driver’s license or a commercial driver’s license.
