My name is Steve Young and I am a retired California Highway Patrol Officer. I will also be your instructor in one of the online traffic courses with B Line Traffic Schools. No matter what course you sign up for, my goals are the same: Present you with the information that you need in a way that will not put you to sleep and then get you back to your life.  Throughout some of the courses I have included interesting situations, people and other random things I have come across in my 25+ years with the CHP to break things up a bit. Ok ok, enough about me. Close this window and start your course with B Line Traffic Schools today.

Traffic School Course Common Questions

05 Aug Blog | Comments

If you recently received a traffic violation you may be eligible to take a traffic school course that will remove those points from your license. It is very important that you make sure you are eligible before you go hunting for the right traffic school course. The last thing you want to do is go through the whole course only to find out it was the wrong one, or that the county you live in does not accept the credentials of the school you worked with. Below is a list of important questions you need to know the answers for before you take any traffic school course.

How do I know if I can take your Traffic School Course?

Every county has its own set of guidelines. It is important you look at the county where you received the violation to determine if you can even take a course to remove points. You can click here to find out which counties our school is approved in.

Do I need special equipment to take your traffic school course?

You will need a laptop and access to the internet. You do not need any special software or any special download to take our traffic school course. You can use your log in name and password on any computer to log in.

I received two tickets this year, can I take the course twice?

You would really need to check in the county(s) you received your citation in, but in most cases you can take a traffic school course, for a one point violation, every 18 months.

How long does the course take to complete?

That is really up to you. The great thing about our traffic school course is that it is available 24/7. You can sit down and do it all at once or go at your own pace and do a little bit at a time.

The only thing to keep in mind is when you have to have it completed for the courts. You need to allow yourself approximately three business days, before the due date, for the certificate to clear the system.  So you will want to make sure you finish it before then.

What score do I need to get in order to pass the course?

You will need to earn at least a 70% in order to pass the course and get your certificate.

What if I don’t pass the first time?

You are allowed to take the final exam two times. If you do not pass it after the second time you will have to retake the entire traffic school course.

*That is not our rule, that is a DMV rule.

How do I get my certificate and where do I turn it in?

One of the great things about our course is that since it is all done electronically we handle all of that for you. You do not need to mail anything in or go drop anything off. We submit completed certificates, to the proper DMVs, on a daily basis. Just make sure you give yourself that three days for it to process.

It is only one point, what is the big deal?

In the grand scheme of things it is probably not a huge deal. However, if you have any other type of violation or end up getting any others your insurance rates could go up. You could also end up collecting enough points that you end up with a suspended license. It is always better to be safe now, rather than sorry later.

Getting a traffic ticket is no fun, but it happens. Help yourself out by taking a traffic school course to remove the point from your license. We have made it so easy for you by making it available online, 24/7. We also take care of making sure it gets to the DMV so your ticket is dismissed.
